They have operated for more than 35 years in Australia with a broad customer base that includes national retailers, independent garden centres, online channels, and international distributors.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this position manages the full lifecycle of assigned categories across Australia and New Zealand. You will research customer needs, shape product ideas, support NPD, oversee packaging development, analyse commercial performance, and ensure products reach the right channels at the right time.
It is a true product management position with ownership, cross functional collaboration, and the opportunity to play a key role in a major brand refresh and packaging transformation launching mid-year. You will also partner closely with a second Product Manager, an in-house designer, the digital marketing team, sales teams nationally, and the team in the UK.
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing seasonal ranges, NPD pipelines, product calendars, category reviews, and packaging briefs with both local and UK teams
- Reviewing sales performance, market trends, competitor activity, store merchandising, and customer insights to guide decisions
- Building business cases, costing models, and proposals for ranging opportunities with major retailers and independent channels
- Working closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and the warehouse to ensure products launch correctly, land on time, and are supported with the right collateral
- Supporting the ANZ portfolio including coordination with the NZ representative who provides market insights and supplier feedback
About You
The ideal person fits the friendly, grounded culture and brings curiosity, initiative, and a genuine interest in gardening and how things grow. You do not need to be a horticultural expert, although an interest in learning varieties, seasons, and trends is essential for long term success. To be successful in this role you will need:
- Experience in product management, category management, product marketing, or similar roles that involve commercial thinking and full lifecycle ownership
- Strong analytical capability with solid Excel skills including vlookups and formula building (these can be taught if required)
- A collaborative working style with the confidence to ask questions, build relationships, and partner across the business
- The ability to interpret financials, understand costing structures, and translate insights into actions
- A proactive, approachable nature that aligns with a team that values initiative, openness, and care for the products and customers
Systems include Jiwa, Microsoft Office, Phocus for sales insights, and Canva for visual creation, with training provided and readily accessible. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE THE DIGITAL MARKETING or GRAPHIC DESIGN SPECIALIST – they already have a team in place to support
