The Company
With a history of more than 100 years, the organisation is an Australian subsidiary of a large and well-known Global business.
Highly profitable, consistent high single digit and double-digit growth along with clear strategic growth plans to double the Australian division in the next 5 years.
Renowned for high quality, innovative products, they have a global presence and the backing of one of the world’s largest industrial manufacturers.
It’s no exaggeration to say that this is a business that helps keep Australian industry moving.
The Sydney Head Office also has some onsite manufacturing/assembly and warehouse.
The partnership with the Global group is providing exciting opportunities coming from new products and segments that have previously been in the market separately.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO, you’ll be leading the Australian business with key reports from Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Operations.
Your goal is to continue the growth plans and embed some recent changes to the business that are setting up the strategy to double within the next 5 years.
This is a role for someone who leads from the front. You’ll be providing positive leadership to the team and be front facing with key customers. There could also be opportunities to set up strategic distribution partnerships.
The brands are very well known in their market and there’s strong support from the experienced Global Executive team and the added benefit of strong back-office support.
This role is based onsite 5 days per week and there will be occasional interstate travel.
Tasks and duties of this role will also include:
- Oversee and coordinate core functions including operations, engineering, sales, marketing, finance, and administration
- Lead strategic planning, policy development, and operational execution to drive sustainable business growth
- Build and maintain high-performing teams through strong leadership, talent attraction, professional development, and retention strategies
- Work closely with the Australian Financial Controller to optimise financial and operational performance - setting budgets, improving efficiency, and maintaining profit margins
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, communication, and innovation across all levels of the Australian business
About You
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Previous demonstrated experience leading a business or division through growth, with full P&L responsibilities (currently below $50m)
- Demonstrated examples of building high performance teams with positive leadership
- Excellent communication skills for all audiences - from Warehouse/Workshop through to Board/Executive
- To enjoy a hands-on role where you can make your mark building a business bigger
- An effective management style that can lead to improvements in all departments
