They are leaders in innovation and design, supplying products into some of the biggest names in the industry in Australia and around the world. The organisation is expanding and recently put in more production lines here and in their APAC sites.

You’ll be an integral part of Operations team working closely with the highly experienced APAC Operations Leader.
The Role
The Leadership Team in Australia has created this role as they are looking to get more actionable insights from their data to improve their profitability. This is a role that won’t just be done by sitting in front of spreadsheets.
There are some key projects to get started on - some of the data is out of date and will need you to be out on the production floor getting to know the processes and people to be able to analyse the ‘what, how, and why’. This will help you to build key relationships and communicate how your role will help people in their own roles.
You will be responsible for overseeing and analysing manufacturing costs, providing accurate financial reporting, and supporting decision-making processes to improve cost efficiencies. You’ll be working closely with Finance, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate cost analysis, budgeting, and financial controls.
Your tasks and duties will include:
- Evaluating production costs, bill of materials (BOM) and undertake margin assessments to ensure accuracy and areas for improvement, reviewing the chart of accounts and ensuring alignment with manufacturing
- Working closely with the research and development departments to analyse and estimate costs of new product lines, as well as teaming up with the warehouse and production team for stock & inventory audits
- Preparing and presenting reports on - budget, cost analysis and variance, profit margins, sustainability initiatives, inventory and slow-moving stock etc. Working with the teams to action the insights
- Being the bridge between Finance, Supply Chain, Operations and Production – we need your knowledge of what good looks like to make improvements and your change management and influencing skills to help the teams adopt recommended changes
- Working with the Managing Director and the APAC Head of Operations on BA projects to continue the strong growth of the business – the plan is that you’ll be able to automate some of the reporting etc mentioned above and will be able to develop more into a BA or Commercial Manager type of role
About You
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Prior success in roles such as Cost Accountant/Analyst, Plant Accountant or similar where you can demonstrate how your analytical skills added value to the business(es)
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to manufacturing, excel skills will be needed as the SAP rollout from global isn’t yet completed
- To be an effective communicator who can talk with people at all levels of the business and have relationship building skills to help you build trust and influence change – we need your financial translation skills to be the bridge between Production (Ops) and Finance.
- A desire to be an influential part of helping the APAC business grow to their next goal of $150m, by working closely with the MD and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in a true Business Partnering role
- To be looking for that hands-on type of role that will get you out from behind the desk and out into the business to really get to know the key drivers and help the SLT pull the right levers
