The Role
As the Assistant Accountant, you will be supporting the Financial Controller in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the organisation’s financial health. This role has a strong hands-on focus across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable while also contributing to reporting, compliance, and business decision-making.
Your tasks and duties will include:
  • Ownership of Accounts Payable and Receivable including supplier/customer invoices, payments, receipts, reconciliations, and query resolution.
  • Daily bank reconciliations and maintenance of accurate financial records.
  • Preparation and submission of BAS, Payroll Tax, and ABS returns to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, while supporting external audits and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to strengthen financial controls, reporting accuracy, and provide insights to support decision-making.
 
About You
We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant who wants to develop their career in Finance with training and mentorship from an experienced senior Financial Controller within a stable and growing business and exciting projects coming up.
To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA or studying toward preferred) with proven accounting experience
  • Experience in AP/AR and strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and compliance requirements
  • PRONTO SYSTEM EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL, SAP (will be rolled out in the next 18 month), and you’ll need intermediate Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • High attention to detail, organisational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Hands-on, practical approach with demonstrated success in manufacturing/warehousing environments and effective stakeholder engagement
