Assistant Accountant - Immediate Start

My client is looking to bring on an Assistant Accountant in a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity, supporting a finance team across month end, intercompany reconcialtions, general ledger and P&L maintenance, statutory accounting like BAS, GST, payroll tax, along with helping out the transactional team, if and when required. You'll be working with an impressive leader and mentor, who inspires too consistently invest into the growth and development of his team.

The main responsibilities will include (but not limited too):

• Assist with month-end close processes, including journal preparation and posting
• Perform and support a range of reconciliation's, including general ledger, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany balances
• Daily receipting across multiple entities and bank accounts daily
• Reconcialtions monthly across multiple entities and bank accounts
• Support the finance team in identifying and resolving reconciliation discrepancies
• Hands on with statutory accounting like BAS, GST, payroll tax on a monthly and quarterly basis

The ideal candidate will have:

• Prior experience in a similar a ssistant accountant capacity supporting with month-end processes, including receipting and reconcialtions experience e.g., bank, credit card, balance sheet reconcialtions
• High level of accuracy, initiative, and accountability in day-to-day tasks
• Prior experience with Xero will be highly regarded!
